DIY: Cinnamon Sugar, recipe and uses

Cinnamon sugar is great way to add a festive flavour to any recipe.

  • stir into coffee, tea, or hot chocolate
  • sprinkle onto pancakes
  • sprinkle onto waffles
  • sprinkle onto yogurt
  • sprinkle onto crème brûlée before caramelizing
  • sprinkle on top of muffins before baking (like these tea cakes)
  • roll donuts in cinnamon sugar
  • sprinkle onto oatmeal or other hot cereal

Cinnamon sugar is such an easy thing to mix up that I can barely call it a recipe, but this is what I normally have on hand. You can also use brown sugar instead of white, to add a caramel note to the mixture.

I’ve been making this for many years. When I was young my mom would make a container of this and after we buttered our toast we would sprinkle this on the top of it. Yum!
Really like your suggestions for uses of this combination
