Cozy Checkerboard Cowl, Kiku Corner

I found this beautiful thick grey wool for this summer on our culinary tour of Quebec. In a small town, Meinhilde and I stopped at an old mill that had an adorable shop crammed full of cute gifts. This wool was in a basket of leftover yarns from a local spinner. This checkerboard cowl was designed to be simple and will complement any outfit. I have so many colourful accessories and clothes, sometimes I just need a neutral-toned piece to match everything.

For this pattern, I chose a tweedy grey for a minimalist and more masculine feel. However, it would look beautiful in any of your favourite colours. I can even envision a striking striping pattern – maybe with white and black to reinforce the checkerboard theme? This would mean using white for rows 1 to 5 and black for rows 6 to 10, then repeating.
