On a warm, sunny Monday, we walked along the beach at the Monomoy National Wildlife Refuge. It was gorgeous! Since the high season didn’t start (we went the week before Memorial Day), it was also mostly empty apart from a couple fly fishermen. We found a tagged horseshoe crab (which we promptly reported to the researchers via their website).

We looked at shells, dunes, the tall grass, and birds. It was so serene and peaceful, with no sound except the gentle waves and birdsong.
