DIY: Make your own Honey Soap

Equipment

  • one heat-safe glass measuring cup (at least 2 cup capacity)
  • one large pot
  • one metal rack, like the kind used for canning
  • one sterilized spoon
  • a soap mold, or old fashioned cookie molds (see photos)

Ingredients

  • 1/2 brick Shea Butter Melt and Pour Soap Base
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 tsp honey

Instructions

  • Add metal rack to pot. Add approximately 2 cm water and bring to a simmer.
  • Add soap base to glass measuring cup.
  • Set measuring cup on rack in pot with simmering water and leave for approximately 10 minutes or until base melted. Mix with spoon.
  • Take off of heat and allow to cool for a few minutes. Mix in vanilla and honey.
  • Lay molds out on a piece of newspaper.
  • Pour melted mixture into sterilized molds. Allow mixture to cool and pop soap out of molds.
