DIY: Oslo Cowl and Free Pattern

We may earn money or products from the companies mentioned in this post.

The Oslo Cowl is a chunky wool piece designed to keep you warm for a Nordic winter-or at least a Canadian one! The yarn is 65% wool and 35% alpaca so it is super toasty. We used Drops Nepal and created a blue ombre pattern that reminded us of the ocean.

We found a cute pattern called Pebble Stitch from Wendy Bernard’s book Up, Down, All-Around Stitch Dictionary. I love Wendy’s books- she has a 3-book series called Custom Knits. Her designs are beautiful but my favourite aspect are her notes on adapting and customizing each piece. Her books taught me about tailoring designs and making them my own. Wendy has a sixth book coming out May 2018 called Japanese Stitches Unraveled– I already have it on pre-order.
