L2RStudio is a Toronto-based studio by artists including graphic designer Ivan Zhao. Tomiko and I loved his illustrations at the Etsy Made in Canada pop up back in September, recognizing classic Toronto cultural landmarks.

His Toronto City Landmarks Series show buildings that are near-and-dear to our hearts, from past buildings like Sam the Record Man and the World’s Biggest Bookstore, to our neighbourhood superstore Honest Ed’s.

Also, of course, the works depicting food like the burger and temaki (hand roll) are especially tempting. I love the bright colours and the shading, as well as the subject matter. That last one is whetting my appetite for the Toronto Sushi Festival this Friday!
