Shopping in Soho was tiring work, so our aunt, Tomiko and I set out for lunch. On our way to a Japanese restaurant, we saw the sign for Ladurée! Since we were going for Japanese food later that weekend, we thought, why not! We were led through the front of shop, through the sumptuous dining room, and out to the back patio which was dotted with leafy trees. Marble tables and mint green chairs were arranged under the leafy canopy where fancy New Yorkers (and tourists) were eating lunch. We had a seat and pored over the menu, finally deciding on omelets, a light salad, and a beautiful raspberry macaron dessert. Lovely!
